Holiday Decorations

 

Yes, you can’t escape it, Christmas time is here, on the radio, on the walls and in the windows, lights and baubles and wooden figurines line every one, as songs we all know by heart come out of the radio, and the T.V.

“Christmas is here” they say, and maybe it is there, but it’s not here, or if it is, it’s not the same. Right now what I feel is certainly pleasure at the lights, and when the day comes my heart will swell and my smile will be broad, but for now, not yet.

There is work to be done, and masters to be served. It’s not a holiday today, not for many days yet. For now it’s an after thought, a faint light I see out of the corner of my eye, on the horizon.
