They say seeing is believing, but
what do we really see?
We see actors playing their parts.
We see photos and videos, but every camera has its back to something. Every
camera captures a moment, cut out of time, and taken out of context. We see one
little piece, through our own eyes or the lens, and we conclude. We see a man
with a frown and we think mean, cold, or angry. We see a woman with a smile,
and we think nice, kind, warm. We see a man on a bench or in a car and we do
not know if his legs are strong or frail. We see and we hear these little odds
and ends, scraps and snippets, and we piece together a story with a thousand
authors and actors, stitched together with hair fine thread.
