I dabbled in paint, craypa, and
construction paper.
I played at construction,
architecture, and sculpture; using sand, cards, legos, and some more obscure
materials.
For a long time I was fascinated by
dinosaurs, and thought maybe I’d be an archeologist. But I think all children
are captured by these distant giants who ruled with muscle rather than mind.
Before I turned 13 magic and
performing caught my eye for many years. Seeming to do the impossible, becoming
a magical creature in the eyes of your audience.
In high school I resolved myself to
marine biology, not out of love exactly but more as a “best” choice I could
come up with. I didn’t know what else to do.
I don’t know how or when writing and
communication became more than a pipe dream, but less than realistic. Slowly I spent
more time with the written word, and concluded that only as a lifelong pursuit,
a true first among my goals and interests, did I have any chance. So I strayed,
and wandered, and here I came. I still don’t know where I’m going, but I put
one foot in front of the other, and try…
